Defenders Fall Short
First game lost to Erie 2-1

The Connecticut Defenders lost their first game on their road trip against the Erie Seawolves 2-1. The Erie Seawolves picked up runs in the bottom of the first 2 innings and in the bottom of the ninth. The Defenders recieved their only runs of the night in the top of the 6th with a homerun by Nate Schierholtzs scoring in him and Quincy Foster.

The Starting Lineup for the Connecticut Defenders was: Quincy Foster, Nate Schierholtz, Brian Buscher, Tyler Von Schell, Dan Ortmeier, Brian Horwitz, Aaron Sisk, Todd Jennings, and Jake Wald. With pitcher Garrett Broshius.

The Starting Lineup for the Erie Seawolves was: Victor Mendez, Vincent Blue, Jackson Melian, Kurt Airoso, Don Kelly, Kelly Hunt, Adam Haley, Nick McIntyre, and Danilo Sanchez. And I am unsure of last nights pitcher.

The Connecticut Defenders face the Erie Seawolves for the next couple of days.

We also have gained a new ending pitcher since Billy Sadler has moved up to AAA. We now have Osiris Matos. Welcome to the team!
